Ms. Mary Walker
Ms. Walker comes to Calvary Christian Academy with experience teaching abroad, in Brazil, where she resided for 24 years. She speaks Portuguese fluently and Spanish semi-fluently. She attended USP, the University of Sao Paulo, where she studied Portuguese and literature. She taught an American high school curriculum, partnering with Texas Tech University, at a private Christian school in Sao Paulo. She is a member of the church here at Calvary East. Ms. Walker considers the Bible as the richest source of literature to not only be studied and read but to be lived.
Mrs. Angelique Tittmann
Mrs. Tittmann holds a degree in Political Science from the University of New Mexico and is currently pursuing a Masters' Degree in Secondary Education. Early in her career she was heavily committed to non-profit work both in the political and medical fields. Upon the arrival of her twins, Mrs. Tittmann stayed home to raise them for four years. Teaching Sunday School during this time, as well as volunteering in VBS and other church activities, Mrs. Tittmann realized God was drawing her to her true passion: education. Mrs. Tittmann believes that a Christ-centered education is the basis for helping the youth realize the love and power of God so that they can indeed change their world. Mrs. Tittmann and her husband Jake live in Albuquerque.
Mrs. Heather Giesler
Almost 8 years ago, Mrs. Giesler's family moved to Albuquerque from Texas. Her husband, Aaron, was hired as the Youth Pastor at Grace Church as he finished his studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. Today, he is the Associate Pastor there and she gleefully teaches the K-1 Sunday School class. Additionally, Mrs. Giesler serves on the Joni and Friends Albuquerque Board and as the Camp Director for the New Mexico JAF Family Retreat which allows families affected by disability a time to recharge and reconnect each summer. She and her husband have 3 kids: a junior, freshman, and 5th grader. Mrs. Giesler previously taught at CCA as the RACE teacher.
Mr. Ed Varoz
Growing up in California, Mr. Varoz learned the foundations of a relationship with God but was not fully committed to the Lord. He and his family moved to Albuquerque in 1996 and in 1999 and began attending Calvary Chapel East. He rededicated his life to the Lord and shortly after was asked to help out in the church youth group. He was reluctant at first but began to realize how passionate he was about sharing the Lord with teenagers. In 2003, he took over the youth group and continues to lead the group today. His passion is to help kids fall in love with Jesus so that they do not feel enticed to fall in love with the world. His desire is that students will leave Bible class better disciples of Christ, confident in why they believe what they believe and eager to share the gospel of Christ with those around them. Mr. Varoz and his wife Val have one daughter.
